Univbersal method and object animated scene was created by benjamin ziegler
I wonder if the universal method works with Obj animation ?
Should because it use Montecarlo but how high the quality sould be set to avoid too much flickering ?
Thanks

Hi Benjamin, yes this is the only methos working "as is" with moving objects animation.
You can try with this special preset (good mode as well)
Thanks to Raf Tomaszewski, NAM-CONCEPT PTY LTD. for his suggestions and advices for creating this preset. It'll be included into the next SR i think, cause it works fast and nice.
Just copy this file into your maxroot\solidrocks\presets_09x folder.
Of course use it only with universal method, as it'll give wrong results with other methods.
Please give me your feedback on this preset

Well the difference is huge :
Only the 10 first subdivs are made by the AA, the rest is managed by the DMC sampler, instead of the "real" universal method wich handle all subdivs into AA.
This one is faster, very very good AA, but more grain in dark areas. Sort of compromize.

Hi subburb,
Sorry for the lack of vray knowledge here, but if the above post indicates that I should use brute force with scenes where there are animated objects, then why does the preset you posted switch vray to using Irradiance Map? Could you point me to a good forum or explanation of what settings I should set differently to render dynamic animations? I have read the basic documentation regarding this here:
www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150SP1/tutorials_anim2.htm
I am having trouble getting a good result with the irradiance map method, but I am going to try your preset today. One more question (sorry, I am a recent convert from mental ray) can I calculate the lighting on a dynamic animation using backburner and letting each render node calculate a single frame/LC+IM file, or do I have to use one machine (and distributed rendering when my dongle arrives)to calculate the LC and IM, then send to network where one machine renders one frame?
And if there is a better place for me to look for newbie answers please let me know, thanks!
