Rent a ski jacket on GetSki

Hi everyone! Has anyone here been to La Plagne? We're going for a short vacation, and I don't want to carry bulky ski gear in my suitcase. The website says jackets can be rented starting at €25 per day. Would that be worth it for a three- to four-day trip? Would it be better to pack my own clothes in vacuum bags and pay for extra baggage on a low-cost airline? If you've tried renting membrane jackets at French resorts before, please let me know how it went. Do they provide clean gear, and is it convenient?

One more quick question: What's the selection of sizes and quality of materials like? Do the jackets provide good protection against wind and wet snow at high altitudes? Can you add ski pants or gloves to your rental once you’re there? I’d really appreciate any tips from those of you who’ve flown out for short weekend ski trips!

I rented a jacket for a 4-day trip last season. At €100, its more costly than a new budget jacket. However, I saved space in my suitcase, and I didn't have to pay for excess baggage on the plane. Ultimately, it was cheaper when you factor in the airline fees. I booked my gear and jacket through getski.com/ . The gear is clean and fresh. It is also completely windproof. The selection in La Plagne is excellent, and the skiing is fantastic. This is the best solution for 3–4 days. Are you going alone?
