My girlfriend's birthday is in three weeks, and I want to give her an experience

Hi everyone. My girlfriend's birthday is in three weeks, and I want to give her an experience instead of another piece of jewelry. She has mentioned several times that she would love to learn pottery but never got around to it. She is a complete beginner and a bit of a perfectionist, so I want a place that is very welcoming to first timers. Ideally I could buy a gift certificate so she can pick the date herself. Her birthday falls on a weekday, so flexibility with dates matters. Any suggestions?

Experience gifts are the way to go, and pottery is a good one for a perfectionist, it teaches you to let go a bit. I bought my wife a certificate from Pottery Studio 1 last year, they have gift cards for exactly this, and she picked her own date. They are launching beginner pottery classes in Santa Monica soon, and in their classes most people have never touched clay, so she will not feel behind. Two hours, $90 for the basic class or $130 with painting and glazing, which gives functional pieces. Until the new studio opens, they have two in LA. Since she is a perfectionist, I would warn her that first pieces are supposed to be imperfect, the instructor says that too. My wife now goes every month. Would you want to go with her or make it her solo thing?
