Hello from Germany,
my first scene with Solidrocks, but i have a little problem with shadows. Im a little bit new to Vray and 3ds Max so maybe you can help.
Picture 1 (rendered with "ULTRA" and IM/LC + interior_Vray2
img502.imageshack.us/img502/416/123aud.jpg
- noise in shadows and light points all over the picture
Picture 2 (rendered with "ULTRA" and Brute Force / LC + Interior_Vray2
img248.imageshack.us/img248/4179/72580945.jpg
- good shadows, but strange colors
The scene is simple, its 1 room with 1 window and there is 1 VrayLight with 30 Subdivs (already tried more).
So i dont think its somethig special. In another scene i used VrayIES lights (no sun or anything) and the shadows were, of course, much sharper and as soon as they get "wider" the shadows getting this noise.
Thank you
EDIT: Tried with the Subdivs of the Vray lights and it looks like i can set any number and its all the time the same result...
RESULT: hsph. subdivs were too low (300 and everything is fine).

hello, nice to know you've solved, but, just on case :
This may happens if you've "store with irrmap" checkod ON in you exterior lighting.
Note, this options affects only in IM/LC mode. If ON, lighting is included in IM. Faster, but can lead in troubles you had. If OFF, light is sampled, and reder is longer, but better results.
Note, when using bruteforce, it's better to check OFF the subpixel mapping
Hope it helps !
