Relfect/Refract depth problem was created by simmsimaging
Still very happy with SR so far - but I am running repeatedly into one issue. I like to use the lower quality options regularly, but I do a lot of work with glass type materials where I need to have the refract/reflect depth higher than 1 or 2 otherwise it goes black. If I go to higher settings to get around this then everything is higher and it goes much slower overall. Would it be possible to have an override of that function only?
Thanks!

hmmm you mean that you have some problems with draft, preview, and mini preview, right ?
What is the minima value you would use for previews ? 3 ?
actually refl/refr global in SR is 3 at low, 4 at medium, and 8 at ultra.
i'll force 3 for preview draft, and minipreview for the next rush build (this week because of urgent gamma debug)

Correct - preview/draft, but 3 would be the minimum I would use for any test renders since even setting it to 8 for finals can be a problem for me. There are quite a few images that I can actually render out the final images at the Medium setting except for that one setting. For some glass/dielectric type objects I have to set it as high as 15/15 in the material options and never turn on the override function at all.
Thanks for looking into it.
