problem with distributed rendering

problem with distributed rendering was created by drawlight
Hello,
I've tried the full version of the software but it really doesn't seem to work well for me:
1. Main problem is it create some sort of problem with the distributed renderings. I think it's a gamma problem
2. The auto-exposure doesn't work well. It adjusts the exposure, but doesn't take care of the burnt spots that it creates by adjusting itself. That means that to create a better scene, one finds itself with a burnt scene in some spots.
3. Rendering times actually went up for me, with the same or lower quality.
I can cope with points 2 and 3 but how can I fix point 1? Unless there's a way out with the DR, I'd like to ask you for a refund as I'll have to go back to my usual way of working till you build a fixed version,
hope you'll understand,
thank you,
Kind regards,
Mick

Hello, Mick,
Thanks for your feedback.
First of all, of course if you want to cancel your purchase, i’ll do the refund with no discuss if you ask me at any moment. Take your time.
let's see what’s wrong, this is the best way to helps solidrocks to became better !
I don’t want here to defend my product, as 400 already customers are satisfied, i’m just interested by why it don’t feed your needs. It’s a interesting experience for me to try to improve the tool.
1) Perhaps can you post or send me a result example to see what happends ? as you probably know by default SR tries to interpolate glossies wich are < 0.75. In DR mode, interpolated glossies gives wrong slaves buckets. This bug comes with vray (see www.chaosgroup.com/forums/vbulletin/show...ht=use+interpolation) .
Try to check OFF the option « interpolate VrayMats glossies if glossiness <= xxx » in solidrocks to see if it helps your DR results.
Another thing to try if you’re pretty sure that it’s a gamma issue : go in max preferences --> gamma&LUT and check ON the « load scene state on max files » to see if it helps. Be sure, too, that activate gamma correction is on in this panel, and color selector and material editor are checked, too.
2) The auto exposure have 2 different options : « ignore alphas pixels » and « whole image ». This means that in the first case, exposure will be computed only with non alpha pixels (background will be ignored). In this case the exposure will focus on visible parts of image (non alphas pixels). It’s useful if you prefer composite the sky, for example, in post.
In the second case (whole image) the AutoExpo algorithm will try to find a correct average exposure for the whole image, whatever the alpha value of each pixel. Just have a try of the 2 options..
Another thing : some renders can have a huge contrast, and in this case, AutoExpo will try to find an average value, with dark areas « not too dark » and bright areas « not too bright », but as in real life, it can’t be magic.
IF too bright spots remains after autoexpo, push the gamma slider on the left, adding some exponential into the color mapping. It can helps to avoid overburned areas, keeping a good exposure.
Globally AutoExpo tool works better with gamma correction around 2.2 in solidrocks.
3) Woaw ! i’m pretty interested by your settings !
More seriously, perhaps can you post here some pics/rendertimes to compare ?
So i suppose that you’ve made your own preset with your personnal settings ?
Perhaps can you share your preset here in this forum (there is a special section for this
Thanks for reading, hope it helps !!
