render has changed completely? :( was created by phizikl
hello, first of all thanks for this great plugin!
im sure this app is alot of help for all users not familiar with vray kernel!!!
ok heres my problem:
renders times are great, but my image has completely changed,
so i have a few questions:
global illumination is always on, do i have to turn it off manually or is there away to do this in SR ?
when i manually turn it off, my image becomes almost black besides the reflections, i have tried everything with gamma, but that doesnt help,
i have also changed the color mapping settings to USER but that doenst help either,
i just want the picture to look like it did before!
thanks for the help!!!

Hi, Ian.
hmm.. in the last 0.75 build, GI in forced to ON as SR focus on Gi settings...
So yes you need to turn it off manually.
you can use the "apply SR to Vray on exit" button (in init/save panel) to force SR to apply its settings to vray when you close it.
the washing problem is strange... perhaps can you post some pics to see what's happening ?

hi subburb ,
is there any way to turn it off in SR ?
because when i turn GI off in VRAY, all of the light is lost...
i noticed that SR uses light cache to produce the image, and by now im happy with the images im getting! but the original image i had was with GI off and it still took ages to render, now its on and its alot faster!
even though GI environment is off...
anyways, i am actually happy with the images im getting, its just weird that GI has to be on to get the light in the scene! and this must have to do with the "problem" that when i render preview a scene is darker then on good or production, there alotmore light is produced making the images much brighter, this i dont like so much because u have to change lighting for every type of quality you render, is there away around this?
other question: i have never been confronted with gamma issues until now! i leave gamma correction on, and work with 0.8 to 1.0, if i have gamma of 2 the images are missing all the contrast, is there a way to work with gamma of 2 and have contrast? i dont want to always have to edit each render...
