OKay - I am starting a new project and have found that ever since the release of sp3 and sr0.75 I am getting splotches on all projects. I have not changed my modeling workflow at all (exporting from sketchup as 3ds) and I am now finding that older projects that once rendered fine are now plagued with this problem as well. I know the universal setting works fine to remove this but some renderings are just to slow - Any idea why this is happening????

One quick note I reloaded sp2 and all is fine now - something has changed between 2 and 3 - hope this helps - unfortunately all the goodies of sp3 go away as well.

Hi, Mike,
same things here since sp3 & sp3a.
I've noticed some black pixels too when rendering.
Working on adapted presets for this strange sp3 behavior.

you can try the preset made by betsee here : solidrocks.subburb.com/index.php?option=...iew&catid=14&id=1269

OK guys i've found the problem !!

Actual SR version(s) auto check the option "check sample visibility" in irradiance map options.

This option finally creates these black dots/lines since SP3/sP3a. the next build (0.8x) will not touch this option anymore (vray default is off).

of course, if needed, the user will have the possibility to check it on manually.

cool ! was a looong search to find it.

i speedup my 0.8x polishing to share it with you soon ;)
