Splotches

Hello!
I can't seem to get rid of all these splotches (under the shelfs and on the post)
I have tried many different presets, and tried adjusting it manually.. but no luck...
I am still using SP2
any help would be great!

Hi !
I'll post a new preset (almost same than 0.52 like)tomorrow to help.
some tips :
- you can try try the 0.52_like preset here in this forum.(see preset zone)
- try to activate DE, it will help A LOT to get rid of these low frequency splotches.
- once Sr is launched, please uncheck the "check sample visibility" option in irradiance map (SR0.75 sets it on when starting, so you need to force it of after SR launch. will be removed in 0.8x)

Thanks for the reply.... that seemed to help alot

And here is one with DE Off
It has some pretty interesting differences... render time only went up by 2 minutes (20 mins total)
I wonder when I add all the furnature, glasses, tables, plates, ect... if render time will go up a higher precent when DE is on...
Just incase you need to see the rest of the scene.. here is a screen shot... there is alot of detail in the celing and the posts (i have show as a box on)

Here's a render using .52 preset, on production setting, with DE On, check samples off
There is still "some" splotches on the celing and on the posts.. but overall its good.
By the way, these are just temporary materials

I have another question....
On the preset, when on production it has the IRRMap at like 100 and the LC at something like 1000 and global Subd at like 4
so when I look at the Vray settings, SR sets the IRRMap to 25 , and LC is at 1000 ....
Souldn't LC be set to 250 instead (250*4=1000) .... is it really using 1000*4= 4000???

no, irradmap hsph subdivs are multiplied by global multiplier at render time, but it's note the case for LC subdivs.
That's why in preset editor i've putted the text "desired hsph subdivs" for irradmap.
