That's it, after using clay mode to tweak light,
i was amused that all my materials turned into black.
I thought, uh , ok, maybe gamma/ambient/render engine change or something.
But no - they are black because there are no more mats in slots.
And i got 10 submats with around 100 mats in them.
Great. Tell me i can return them.
No, just no, don't answer this.
Let this just hang here forever.
Will not use it anymore, im afraid if you allow such mistakes in commercial script,
i'm scared of what will come next. Unpredictable save file corruption?

Hello,
i'm sorry about this issue...
What version are you using ? This problem have been worked a lot on latest build.
That means that SR have crashed while parsing materials on your scene..
You may check your autoback files to restore it.. !
This happens extreemely rarely.
Ususally 10 multis with 100 mats inside is no problem...
Perhaps did you used some unusual materials ? (mental ray, other plugin materials....) ?
If you don't mind, i'm very interested to have a copy of your scene to isolate the issue and solve it.

Oh, ok.
I use the latest free build.
I can't provide the scene at this point.
I can provide some info:
toggled clay mode > click mat box > choose vraymat(from new mats) > render one time - ok.
i thought: need to set up controllable clay mat
opened mat editor > created default vraymat > go to sr:settings > dragndrop mat onto matbox > sr hangs, freezes, nails > mats wiped out.
well not so bad, it didn't actually freeze, or maybe it freezes silently, because i continued to work on the light > and only next render after;
maybe 2 minutes i noticed something goes wrong.
Subburb, if you can somehow backup mats before processing them. Make a pool, xml of some kind, and export them there, and start the process on the copyes, not the root objects. i did restored from autoback, so sorry for angry post , you know how it is when nerves hurt and you're on edge all the time because of deadlines.
And sorry for my english, not native.
