RENDER SPECIFIED FRAMES...?

RENDER SPECIFIED FRAMES...? was created by Jesse
Hi, this is my 2nd attempt to post on this topic? This time as a "technical question".
> We just did a net render using our internal FARM, and for the most part everything on the shot came through very nice. However, a couple machines needed paths updated, or a plug-in to be updated as the renders shows a few frames here and there which are obviously missing maps, or a plug-in.
> I would like to specify the frames to be RE-RENDERED using FlyWiz? I do not see any option to specify frames in this way, as one would do using the MAX "common" render dialogue??
> Can this be done... I would hate to redo the full shot, as it is a day long render over 20 machines! And we have other shots to get to?! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, and sooner is better than later...

Perhaps, once I get to Backburner... there will be an option? I will explore this, while I wait for anyone who may have come across this before...

I feel a bit silly holding this one sided conversation, but I will hold out hope that the others online have some experience with specify frame count options?
> I think as time is important, and it is a drag... but, I will simply submit multiple jobs to BB with one frame each for the problematic frames that need re-rendered?
Insane...

Hello Jesse,
was sure to answered your last post.. sorry for delay !
Did you used the BB button in solidrocks ?
Be careful when using flywiz and BB for pass 2 (irrad map) because, as it's incremental, frames must be computed in correct order..
I suggest to use the DR instead of BB for computing irrmap.
LC must be computed locally, or at least by a single computer.
No problem for the final frames anyway.
Just change the frames in top of flywiz, and launch the pass 3 only (final frames).
It should work.
Again, sorry for delay, i'm not at office and internet access here is a bit silly.

Hi,thanks for the additional information. Shortly after I posted, I found the answer to our questions within BB... thank goodness! The solution should anyone ever find themselves in the same situation where a NET RENDER was finished with one or 2 machines putting out bad frames due to a missing or out of date plug-in/map/etc... is; to within flywiz set your frame range with first and last frames... then submit to BB, once the BB interface launches you can specify specific frames to re-render (1,20,233,etc).
Solved...
best,
J

cool, good news !
I'll try anyway to investigate the "sending" to bb, and prepare the settings. But for instance no luck, i can't "speak" in any way to the submit job window. I need to dig more
