MOAWiz methods question

Hello there :)

A long time after SR license purchase, I finally take some time to deeply test it in production environmment. A bit tricky at first, because I'm used to act on parameters myself (or via a few scripts) ;)
That being said, I'm wondering something about the methods proposed by MOAWiz when it comes to rendering animation sequence. What is the most efficient (rendertime and quality wise) between Single-Pass render and 2-Pass render (with IM interpolation) ? I mean, so far, I've always thought that when it come to animated objects, 2-Pass render with IM interpolation was the only way to go ! do you guys have some solid experience with Single-Pass render ? no flicker ? rendertime better ?

Thanks a lot for any help you could provide - we're on heavy deadline here, and all the rendertime I can save would be highly welcome to spend on post-prod :)

Regards.

Hello Nicolas, sorry, was taking my one-time holidays ;)
+ a huge work last week. Hard to keep all stuff perfectly up to date. I Apologize for that.

Well it's a matter of habits and very case dependent as well.

I teach Vray the to ECV school here in france. But THEY have the mojo ;)

See their shorts here : www.ecv.fr/node/3074

Most of them rendered with Vray, with single pass method. The IM Detail enhance did the trick.

If my opinion, if you use Detail enhance, you may try single pass.
If not, i suggest 2 pass method.

I'm polishng the new incoming solidrocks. It'll allow to say how many interp frames you need.

Hi mate,

No problem for the slight delay ;)
Thanks for the information. I've ran 2 tests on BB here, one with single-pass and the other with 2-pass (interpolated IM) ... I'll see once it's finished !

Regards.
