Animation - big problem in reflections

Animation - big problem in reflections was created by NicolasC
Hello,
I'm very disappointed by my first attempt to rely 100% on SR for production ... I'm having BIG troubles on reflective surfaces !! Quality set on Ultra, animation preset, MOAWiz to render on single-pass or 2-pass ... and reflections are flickering like hell ?! honestly, I didn't have these problems when I set up my scene "by hand" !! any idea on something I may doing wrong, please ? any crucial stuff that I should take care of ?
Thanks !

well it can be several things : Some material have reflect interpolation ON... it may be as well the retrace corners option of the lightcache.
Perhaps can we meet on skype ? my pseudo : subburb
If possible to have the scene (without materials) to have a try by myslef. Would be cool.

Morning Jérôme,
No interpolation on reflections or réfractions here (rarely or never for stills, but never-never for animations ).
So you think it might be due to retrace corners (being on) ?? interesting ... I thought it was supposed to help getting clean results, not making it worse
For Skype, it would be a real pleasure, but no way to get Skype installed at the office maybe Facebook instant messages instead ?
I've to run renderings ASAP using an online renderfarm, and then I'll send you the scene.
Thanks a lot.
Regards.

As you can see here : help.chaosgroup.com/vray/help/300R1/examples_lightcache.htm
the retrace corners helps a lot on glossies reflections and refractions in some case.
Was just to be sure.
In fact SR Wizards replace the "by hand" with automated stuff.
Did you used the animation preset ?
note : ultra mode is almost never needed IMO, except if you use BruteForce/LC for renderings.
But usualy good/very good is good enough for animations with IM and LC.
I'm impatient to have a test on your scene to see what's wrong !

Hi mate
Yes, I used animation preset.
As I told in another thread, I'll try to find sometime to prepare you a stripped down version of the scene for you to test. My worry is that the scene is pretty (very ?) simple and I don't understand why the VRay / SR duo isn't more reliable, all the more when it's about dealing with simple stuff
Thanks for your help,
Regards.
