Can I render LC and IM passes on Rebus, via FlyWiz? was created by cubicspace
I'm baking both the LightCache (1) and the Irradiance Map (2) locally on my machine, but these are too slow to meet a deadline.
I would like to use Rebus to render these two stages. Is this possible?
I read the thread "FlyWiz 1.7.1 and Rebusfarm", but the OP is rendering those locally.
It seems that "Save for Farm" saves only the 3rd stage, to send that to Rebus. Or does it somehow work for the 1st and 2nd stages also?
Do I need to use "Apply SR to scene and close"?
I'm a bit new to SR and Rebus. My renders need to composite with a previous render made by a colleague using SR and Rebus, but that colleague is unreachable at present. Trying to piece together their process!
Thanks for any help.

Hello !
you're right, only the pass n°3 can be "prepared" for external render.
if you ant to manage passes 1 and 2 manually, then, yes, first of all, you need to apply SR settings to your scene.
you should perhaps launch the LC pass locally, because usually it takes less than 1 hour.
you need the LC saved in a file to use it for the second pass (iM in multiframe incremental mode)

Thanks for the reply subburb!
Yes, the LC pass for one 120-frame sequence took 30 minutes. But the IM pass is still running from last night, looks like it will be 8.5 hours total. And I have many sequences to render!
What are the steps to send the IM pass to Rebus? Is this correct?
1. Anim:Fly button.
2. Set the three output files.
3. 1-Compute LC.
4. Save for Farm.
5. Upload to Rebus.

yes for the LC pass you can use the step 1.
for IM pass, you need to close SR and manage it by hand:
(apply SR settings to your scene before closing)
- manually set ligthcache to "from file" and choose the file generated by the step 1 of the anim:fly tool
- set your IM to "multiframe incremental" and be sure to save (Check ON the autosave button and choose a path and filename)
- VERY important : in vray options, check ON the "don't render final image" option. no need in this pass to make the AA.
PASS 3 : the beauty pass :
set both IM and LC to "from file" and choose the corresponding files.
IMPORTANT NOTE !!!!!
====================
- I don't know if rebus can xompute the IM file and send it to you. You should ask them first.
- Are you sure only the camera moves in your scene ?

Rebus actually does the IM pass then proceeds with the final render. No need for me to manually send a 3rd pass.
These steps work well. Thanks again!
