Hi,
Please find the 3 attached rendered images..
First image (Image_2010)rendered in 3ds max 2010 / vray 1.5 sp5 / soildrocks 0.99
First image is very much fine with rendering quality and time taken for rendering...
Second image (Image_2014) rendered in 3ds max 2014 / vray 3.00.03 / soildrocks 1.65
Time taken for rendering is almost same to the previous 3ds max 2010 rendering, but, the image is very noisy..
Same Image rendered with Proba.Lights OFF Then image has no noise but time taken is more (2m 10.6s)
Why is this time difference when all the other settings remain the same..
Plz observe other small rendering differences in first image and third image apart from noise.(shadows on wood and glass rods)
Thanks

Hello !
I'll check for this jpg problem. i removed them because of bad post containing hacked jpgs..
You're right, i expected better glossies with 1.7...
i'm polishing presets at this moment to make them at least fster for same quality.
And, next build, proba lights will be off by default, because after experience feedback them only seems to add grain... !
maybe the LC retrace on by default in SR1.7 explains the extra render time.
but i prefer let him checked by default to avoid average Vray users to get puzzled with light leaks, some kind of security in fact.
ok, let's improve SR for next round !
if you made cool presets, feel free to share them into presets section in this forum

Hi
Thanks for the reply...
Hope you come up with good presets:)
But plz be concern about the rendering time...boz i somewhat felt 3ds max 2010 / vray 1.5 sp5 / 0.99 solidrock was much better with rendering time. and rendering quality as well.
So plz consider the rendering time in the upcoming 1.7 presets..
will try from my side too..
Thanks
