problems rendering above 3000 pixels

I'm trying to render a quite large image 5000x3000 and the processors seem to fail causing the render to last forever. I'm using 3ds max2009 +vray sp2. Are there any known issues with Solidrocks and such large scales?

Hi,

How 'heavy' is your scene? Do you have a lot of proxies or displacement maps? Displacement is a real render killer on big stills.

I tried rendering a scene at 3000 x 1500 with a displacement map on a wall and it took all night to calculate the Light Cache before finally crashing after about 15 hours. After removing the displacement map, it took half an hour to render the whole thing!

Nope nothing like this....thanks u in advance...seems to have been a ram prob since i tried to render on default values....changed it and seems ok

Hi !
can i ask you if you used Vray Frame buffer, or max one ?

if Vray, i will give choice in SR to uncheck \"copy to max vfb\" function to use less ram.
