Doh ! I got the error on a fresh scene... !
it seems that vraysincfilter have simply been removed from Vray...
I suggest sharp quadratic instead.. what do you think ? (goal is archviz)

btw lanczos is now the default in Vray, wich is similar to sinc filter, but more complete, and is the best compromise en terms of sharpness and aa reduction.

In waiting your wish, there maybe a workaround :
For fresh scenes, please edit the solidrocks.ini file and make sure you have
filtermode=0
This will simply turn off the filtering and allow SR to start with no errors. Then, when SR is launched, you can use "user" in options and choose the filter of your choice. It will be saved with the scene.
For existing scenes, if SR launch with errors, simply close SR,
then type in maxscript editor :
filtermode=0
This is an in waiting workaround. Please tell me if you prefer lanczos or sharp quadratic as archviz filter, then i'll make the correction.

I know this will not help, however I agree with the OP - same problems here. Also, when I start SR I cannot choose "user" as a option.
PAL > 4/3 > Photo > HDTV > PanaVis [ No user ]
However, when I manually enter a resolution, it switches to "user"
Not sure if this should be an option next to PanaVis.
Hope this makes sense.

Hello,
maybe it is better if I open a new topic. The problem with the settings in Vray 5 Hotfix2 on 3DsMax2021 is still present on SR and so it is not usable for me personally. I have now installed 3DsMax2020 with an older version and the previous SR. But this is no solution. What can I do to solve the problem with the always reset and unusable settings?

i'm underwater at this time and have reserved my next monday afternoon to work on this issue.
