hi subburb
congratulation, for developing this tool. after testing \"blue cherry\"-for mr, i thought it would be great to have this tool for vray too. now its donne, and better!
1. it would be pleasant to have some settings to save the previous settings of vray before
starting sr, so i can switch back to this state, before sr manages some settings
2. a separate setting for the antiallising would be great, maybe with the \"default\" sr settings
for the quality
3. the common parameters for the render size is something i can not use. for me it would be more
helpful if i could set up the din formats, with the dpi-settins, like the \"printsizewizzard\"
in 3dsmax, maybe you could implement something like this
franz
ps. i´m working on apple mac pro dual-dualcore 3,0ghz,windows xp-64, max9 x64, vray 1.5
sr is working without errors,

Hi, fs_AT12, and thanks for congrats !
1- SR saved/restored settings until b0.3 !
but, at the demand of beta testers (and after long personnal usage), it has be deactivated.
for multiple reasons : first, materials are definitely modified.(if you do it)
and, when you close SR, no other choice to ask user : do you want to restore old settings ?
users often close/repoen SR to free space on their screen, so the question become annyonning, asked 50 times a day..
but i think it can be reactivated without any problem..
2- yeah i agree. i'm actually working on interior/exterior differentiation.is your demand assimilable to that ?
i explain : in medium, settings are quite low to achieve a clean interior. anyway, the medium AA seems ok for the scene..
so to do that, you'll need ideally a very good setting with a medium AA.
if not, i think, too, it's a great idea to separate AA from quality buttons, but in onther hand it will add complexity to the interface.
in the same way, i'm thinking about the possibility to activate DE or not for each quality level.
For instance, DE (detail enhancement) is activated for good-->ulra modes.
the philosophy of SR is to achieve logic decisions, avoiding newbies AND power users to hesit with multiple choices (often the sames day after day !)
3- i d'ont know the \"print wizard\" in max..
do you mean : i need a 13*18cm at 150dpi, and resolution is adjusted in pixels ?
if that, i think it's possible !
4-many thanks for the technical info !!

ad3. yes thats it!
printsize wizzard:
ad1. yes ractivate it!!
no not really , i didnt think it is necessary to push ok every time i close sr.
but may be you could implement it in a way, so that it is possible at request.
nevertheless it would be fine. (eg. if i´m using old files and i dont want to loose
the settings i have to make a copy of the file or rndersettings to achieve that)

yes do this, i think more experienced user would like this.
may be its also possible to put a selection for a AA-filter in a pulldownmenu.
but if it gets to sophisticated, for easy use, you could just put this things in a
\"advanced setting\" category, that you can activate, and adjust settings, and if it
is not, then you can use the standard settings produced by sr

hi, fs_AT12
i've worked on the problem of printsize wizard.
it's very hard to \"catch\" an exterior information telling me that the resolution has been changed by another max plugin..
i can, for instance, only survey changes mades in the render panel. i'm working on that.
anyway, you can right now use the wizard plugin with SolidRocks, whith this tip :
- we consider SolidRocks is actually open
- launch the printsize wizard, and choose your resolution via this tool.
- when it's done, quit the printsize wizard via the \"Render scene Dialog\" button
- the render scene dialog opens.
- Just close it, and solidRocks will update and adjust all render parameters to your choosen resolution.
Best regards,

thank you
this was also the way i´ve donne it!
\"print size wizzard\"
i mean it is not neccesery to get this information from the plugin, if it is to difficult,
but if you could just implement a setting, wich provide the same possibilities as psw , in to the common parameters of sr, it would be absoultly enough.
