Anyone else get confused between major and minor service schedules?

I’ve had my car for almost two years now and honestly I still get mixed up about what actually needs doing each time I take it in. Last week the garage told me I was overdue for a few things and I had no idea they weren’t included in the regular oil change. Been reading up on the difference between a major minor service Dubai because some places list a million extra checks while others keep it simple. Now I’m wondering if I should just follow what the manufacturer says strictly or listen to the local shops who say the dust and heat here mean more frequent replacements.
