Long Render Time was created by hantrax
I have Installed Windows 7 in a new partition with Max 2009 and Vray SP2
I have in other partitin XP64 and MAX 2009 with vray sp2.
On XP work fine, in W7 the some scene is very slow to calculate. The LC pass take a long time.
Have you any idea?

hello, Hantrax.
Hmm that's not cool news !
normally W7 would be faster than Xp for renders...
Check in lightcache the number of threads and be sure it's equal to your threads number.
It can be a ram issue, too...
In this case go in Vray system panel and raise the dynamic ram limit to see if it helps...

I have 2 Xeon Quadcore L5410 and 8GB ram, i have to set to 8 the lightcache threads?
The dynamic ram is set to 400 and automatic
When I open the scene i receive a message that this file was created with an old version of vray and I have to reset DMA noise to improve performance. The scene was created on xp with the some vray.

yes i suppose 8 threads.
But normally solidrocks checks the system and apply the correct number.
To control that point :
Make a ctrl+alt+supp and choose open task manager
In the task manager, go in performance tab. here you'll see the correct number of logical threads. If you've 8 threads here, then put 8 into your lightcache threads, too.
as you've 8GB of ram you can raise the 400 value to 800 (10% of physical ram) or more. it will speedup things !
about The Vray old version message.. well i don't know, but it's not SR related i guess.
That's better ?
