Gamma problem

Gamma problem was created by jrolf
Hello,
I saw one topic on this issue, unfortunately in French...
I don't seem to get the right settings for the gamma: the files saved have a different gamma then what I see in my (Vray)framebuffer and SolidRock preview window.
There are three places where the gamma is influenced: in 1) Customize>Preferences>Gamma and LUT in Max, 2) the Vray color mapping options and 3) the SolidRock mini preview window.
My current settings are:
1) 2.2 for gamma, and for input and output bitmaps
2) Reinhard, gamma 2.2
3) Gamma 2.2, "Post" is off
The only way it seems to work is when I set my output bitmap in 1) on 1 in stead of 2.2 and then immediately press Render in the SolidRock window.
After that, SR seems to set the output bitmap gamma back to 2.2 and all files saved have incorrect gamma!
What to do?
Thanks,
Jurjen

Hi,
just let solidrocks do the things with gamma,
when saving an image, jut choose "override gamma" in the save dialog and force it to 1.0.

Ok, thanks. The override 1 solved it.

I don`t understand why SR changes output gamma value. It should always be 1, so we would never worry about this on saving an image.
Or I am missing something... Is there a point SR messing with output gamma?
thanks
