hello. was created by karatasca
well , I spend almost all nigth trying to understand solidrocks , It is really a wonderfull tool , but I have to make an animation for the next week , and a dont have the time to learn how the plugin works .
I have 16 cameras to render 1000 frames each one , solidrocks dont take my pre-settings and makes his owns , this is giving me a strange results , it does not make my work flow.
your tutorial do not help to much and it is another version a guess.

-here is my question

I have to detach the plugin of my vray in order to work as I use to , but my vray seams to be slave to solidrocks , I really have to work man , and Im stock on this.

//how can I detach my vray to solidrocks ???? I dont see an option for that.
// if I uninstall solidrocks , do I loose my money ?? or can I install it later??

I really love solidrocks but for make an animation I guess it is a little more complicated and Im very short in time , I put myself in line of learning but not now I dont have time man.
please help me.

sorry about my english,greetings.

Hello, thanks for your post.

first, you need to know that Vray provides 2 animations procedures :
Flythrough animation : this is useable when ONLY the camera is moving in your scene.
In this special case, you can use some shortucts to compute GI : 1 single lightcache for your 1000 frames in 1 shot, then an irradiance map (incremental) every 5-10 frames, wich only computes the new discovered points. After that, of course, you need to render final frames.

Other method is "moving objects" animation, where objects, lights, etc... are animated (real full anim).

In this case, you need to compute GI for each frame (Lightcache + Irradiance map). You can, in option, use the "prepass" system for irradiance map, wich allows a blending of Irrad map between frames to help to remove Gi artifacts.

NOTE : SolidRocks is here, in it's actual 0.99 build, to compute still frames.
But it provides a tool for managing Flythrough-type animations. You can use it.

If your animation is moving object type, then you cannot use solidrocks for rendering your anim.
BUT you can use it to "apply" SolidRocks settings to your scene as a guide, then close SolidRocks and manage your animation by hand.

In a short future SolidRocks will provide a second tool for this type of anim.

TO APPLY SOLIDROCKS settings to your scene : (please make a backup).

- Launch SolidRocks
- Choose your desired settings (i suggest IM/LC+DE for good results, in good mode at least)
- (if you've time, please choose universal method)
- Then, open the "init/save" panel
- click on "apply optimisations" for light and materials
- then check on "apply SolidRocks settings on exit" button.
- You can now close SolidRocks, all vray settings coming from solidrocks are now applied to your scene.

NOTE :
- please avoid any form of interpolations in animation (see options - inter glossies and interp vray lights).
- please don't use the options named "use camera path" for both LC and IM except if your camera moves just a little bit.

At this point, you can apply the official procedure to create your animation.

some useful links :
for FlyThrough anims (but SolidRocks can do that for you) :

for full anim (moving objects) :

Hope it helps !
Have a good work,
