GI splotches on production setting

Hi,
I just got my Solid Rocks...so far I like it. Only few issues on some scenes.
Like this scene is so splotchy for some reason. I use production settings and (as advised on another thread here) I reduced setting to -5,-1 from -3,-1 but it did not smooth the flat areas. Any other suggestions?

Also on this scene (it's not THAT complex as you see) I tried to auto exposure feature, and I waited for like 10 minutes to get that exposure window. Is that normal?
I have a double AMD Opteron with 8GB setup. 4 cores - each 2GHz.

Hello, you're right ! houston, we have a problem ! ;)
well you should reduce quality to good, usually no problem with this kind of scene.
(assumed you used the vray interior2 preset).

Looks like it's a material problem...
Would you please hide your glasses and make an override with a grey material to see if problem still exists ?

This may happens if you've somewhere in your materials an old "raytrace" map.

note : in vray, never use pure white colors (255,255,255). It takes ages to render. limit to 235,235,235

About auto WB : this tools renders (in preview) 2 times the minipreview.
But it seems there's a render problem, so we'll focus first on your irrmap problem.

If problem isstill there, feel free to send me your scene, i'll check what's going on.

Hm, you're right, it really could be the glass, I think I had problems with this model I used on some older scenes but totally forgot about that....I'll test it. I don't think I have any raytrace materials though, and my white colours are usually 195 max.

Oh and, I use vray, not vray2 preset and interior setting. I have vray 1.5. Should I use vray2 preset anyway?

P.S. Is it just on my PC or is this forum not really working on google chrome?

So far I tried deleting the glass and it cleared up a bit, then I ran vray scene converter in case there really are some standard materials left and it cleared up even more, I think it's ok now but I will do some more tests on that scene.

So this is how it looks with no windows, and a clay version. So it's a material problem? Still, why is it also a window problem? I really see nothing wrong with it. Glass is almost black diffuse, and refraction is almost white. Since I never use white diffuse colours above 195, could it be that some textures have pure white areas? Or does the bitmap handler "handle" that?:) (so that it's not a problem)
