Fly Through Settings question. was created by rich0550
Hi firstly loving SR thank you!
When I chose the 1+2+3 method should can i send this to backburner all at once, naturally make each job dependent on the other right? or will SR handle this?
more important is can i use fly though if there are objects moving in the scene? or should a light cache and irradiance map not be saved seperately for such situation or is there a SR area for that?
Thanks Rich!

Hi, and thank you for enjoying !
well for now you need to use manually the 1,2, and 3 buttons to manage BB.
I'm trying to find a way to create dependent jobs, but it's not finished right now.
about flythrough : Flythrough is ONLY made for anims when ONLY the camera moves..
In all other cases, you'll need to use the full anim.
Anyway, you can improve your workflow a bit like this :
assuming that your lighting is not moving while animation :
1 : Hide all moving objects and make a flytrough for all non-moving geometry.
2 : select all you non moving geometry, and set it to mate
3 : unhide animated objects
4 : put result of phase 1 in background (for good alpha premult)
5 : render moving objets (withh all non moving objets in matte mode) using the anim:full wizard
6 : composite the 2 passes !
Hope it helps!

Thats a pretty cool solution. I have read a few workflows on saving light cache and irriadiance map, they never mention that objects should not be moving in the scene.
Is the 1. to 6. workflow above specific to SolidRocks?

nope !
It's general use. I teach this method to my max/vray students, but it can be applied to many situations : mental ray, final render, c4d...
Each time the renderer allows a specific process (faster) for rendering flythroughs/non moving objects, i think you can do the same...

you can even improve this process for the pointN°5 (vray tip) : you'll you can attach spheregizmos with vray environment effect VrayShpereapparatus. this time you combine the fast matte render , and limit your rendering to the spheres gizmos. Even more faster to render ! Don't forget to make your spheres large enough to catch Shadows as well.

Thanks for info. I am still struggling just to get decent lighting, compositing is still a bit hard for me. Should I just use brute force for both primary and seccondary?? Will this solve all flicking issues?
Render times are longer but not unacceptable.
