I have never had luck with the 'minipreview' window. When I Auto Adjust (AE) I get a blown out preview.

Hello Bobby,
Well in SR options, there's a choice for AE process : "ignore alpha pixels" and "whole image"
if you choosed Ignore alpha pixels then AE will be computed only with opaque pixels. That means that background will not affect the AE computation.
Whole image will use all pixels in image to compute the AE, whatever they are.
Perhaps can you have a try on it ?
