Each time I save preset, Max2013 crashes was created by blinkimage
I am finding that production settings are not good enough for the interior CGIs we are creating, so am trying to create my own preset.
Each time I edit a preset and change values then save (to a new name) Max2013 x64 crashes. All settings in the preset that I just created are lost.
Why is this? Could it be something to do with permissions?

Here is a small section of a render. We are often getting these kinds of issues in our renders using SR. The settings are IM/LC +DE and Interior_Vray2. The slider is set to Production and we are rendering at 4000x4000 pixels.
How do I clear up this awful blotchiness? If you look closely, you can see two types of blotches - very fine near the corners and larger, softer blotches across the main ceiling geometry.

Any feedback on this? I really need settings that work well with architectural interior scenes, and the usual IM/LC +DE, even on production settings, don't give clean results for large smooth surfaces such as ceilings and white painted walls.

I think I have sorted the preset max crash problem. If you run 3dsmax as an administrator, it will allow you to save a preset without crashing.

Thank you so much! I solved the problem with your advice!
for your problem, I do not know ..
can be many causes
the first: the amount \ quality of light (subdivision)
the second: the material which is traversed by the light (curtains and glasses)
and then ..
the material wall .... the floor
test render without windows, curtains, barriers, lights secondary
only the sun.
what method do you use? sky + sun + portal + physical cam
o ---- + sun + vrayligth standardcamera?
thanks again .. hello
sorry for my english
