Strange i had to set the main light that is the lamp in the room to 180 even to get it to look a bit bright, was amazed that the value of multiplyer should bee that high also, i'm not sure why its way to bright at your place, the Color Mapping should be at Exponential, which should smoothen out the light exposure dramatic.
As you can see on my render its not that over exposed (my render), so why you get a different result with the same settings im not sure about hmm.
If you compare the 2 picture closely you still can see the bottom have a little bit left, of that misc rendering failure.
