i was checking the website www.workshop.mintviz.com/tutorials/flick...nimation-using-vray/ and i have an issue that i did not find the solution when rendering with vray animation:
i used the fly anim. with moving objects preset in solid rocks 1.6 latest...

i checked the use camera path and everything good

i have Moving objects with camera movement and i have flickering in the shadows (find attached the image) i tried to solve it and i found that the flicker is nearly gone but the shadows are low quality but unstable check the imageā€¦
what should i do to have a good looking shadows? other than increasing the subdivisions of the shadows in the lights that i already did..

also i have a vrayHDRI in the scene with vraylight too...

thank you

Hello !

Well, Fly:anim (flywiz) is designed for rendering animation with NO moving objects at all !!
This special tool is designed for animation where ONLY camera is moving. All other things in scene MUST be static.

If you have moving objects, you must use the MOAWiz (Anim:full) to render your animation.

you can also combine them, that means :
hide you moving objects
render your static parts with Anim:Fly tool, then render only moving objects with anim:full.
BUT !! that is quite complicated, because you'll loose shadows, GI contact, etc.. and you'll have a hard work in compositing different passes to reconstruct.

Yes I mean, I already used The MOAWiz (Anim:full) to render my animation, but the problem as i said, the shadows are low quality... like in the image attached, what should i do to have good shadows not that grainy?

i think this is a common problem in vray 3.0

thank you subburb

you should abake SR settings to your scene (make a copy first)

using the init/save panel, button "apply SR to scene and close".

then, raise your hdri dome subdivs to (at least) 16 subdivs to see if it's better.

You can also modify the preset, changing the base subdivs for lights.
