hmm. i'm not sure if i undesrstand clearly you question.
Yes, SRB0.4 save Vray settings of your scene, while it don't know if you're making a classic render or a baking. For me, baking works pretty well with solidrocks, you just have to adjust resolution near your baking resolution (i.e for a 1024.1024 lightmap, use 1024*768 or 1280*1024 in solidrocks to adjust parameters)
In the next version(0.5), SR will ask you if you want or not to save settings with your scene.
Personnaly i use two different files of the same scene to do classic renders and baking renders.

Thanks ,
what was happening is that i was having more clear bakes than renders , perhaps related that i was
using draft settings .
finally i couldnt prove , because same day arrived my max2008 copy , installed it , and surprise , all my interface
buttons of max9 had dissapeared . uninstalled max9 completelly , come back to install and , again
buttons disapeared , i dont know where they have gone ¡¡¡
Absolutely misterious . Max8 and Max 2008 running correctly at least .
and the same on my other machine . but after some posts on other forums , i am the only one , it seems .
i will try forward .

have you tried to reload your user interface (.ui file)
costumize>load custom UI scheme
or load the ame-light or ame-dark.ui?
