Hi everyone,
I've read a few posts on here, but need further clarification.
I'm looking to do flicker-free 4K animations!
All objects are static. Just cams moving.
And I want to keep it quite speedy so my settings are on Preview to Low.
Are flickerfree animations on Preview to Low even possible?
Thanks all.
I use:
3ds Max 2018
VRAY Next (4.20)
Solidrocks 2.3F

Hello !
Wich Vray version are you using ?
If just cam is moving, you can use the flythrough anim mode. It will first compute a lightcache (and irradiance map if you choose it) for all the camera path. Then it will render the frames using this "initially baked GI".
Please note that SolidRocks will help you to adjust all parameters for it.
Result may have splotches / average GI if it's irradiance map, but it's flicker free.
I suggest to use BruteForce/Lightcache mode as GI computation is much stronger and precise. Lightcache is precomputed as well in prepass, then Brute force is computed for each frame. Result is much better this way in GI terms, but may produce pixel sized flickeing.
In all cases i stringly suggest to use the animation preset as it adujst stronger AA to avoid fine flickering / AA issues.
Medium mode should be fine, in good mode you'll be safe.
Be sure to have a try on 20-30 frames to be sure before rendering all the cam path.

Hope it helps !

I'm using VRAY Next (4.20)
ok. to summarise:
- use animation preset
- BruteForce/Lightcache
- Medium quality
- Use FlyWiz

And there is no chance that rendering at Preview or Low quality will work?

That's right, medium quality at least.
You can try Lc/LC method in low mode for fast test.

Thanks for the advice.
It's working really well. By the way, I am having success with preview at 4k.
Thanks again.
