gamma in preview was created by CHAKIR
hi all,
the new mini-preview work like the VrayFB its in gamma 1 to have a correct result i have to put vray gamma in 2.2 wich overbright my final render because i use the maxVFB with gamma 2.2\"input/output\" no need to apply another gamma correction..
may be this can use the SR choise for the VFM
- if vrayFB work like this
-if maxFB use the gamma preference of max?
thanks

Hmm i think you need to activate gamma correction in SR to help you handling gamma stuff.
here is some explanations of how works Gamma correction in SR. (gamma correction checked) :
Note : for 3dsmax9 users, you have to activate manually gamma correction in max preferences.
for example, you type 2.2 gamma correction
- While working (in max), SR will set max display gamma to 2.2, max input gamma to 2.2 (AND vray color mapping gamma to 2.2)
like this, your material editor reflects the gamma correction.
- At render time, just before rendering, SR will change gamma values like this :
Max display gamma to 1.0, max input to 2.2, and vray colormapping gamma to 2.2
With this method, renderings made both in max VFB and Vray vfb (srgb off) are pretty same.
Other good thing is that gamma is directly applied to render, ne need when saving to override gamma etc...
Please note that if you load a scene with a Vray gamma different of 1.0, then when you open SR, it will auto-switch the gamma correction to ON, taking your Vray color mapping gamma as value.

hmm.yes i think..
Just click on \"gamma correction\" is SR, enter the needed value, and let SR operate.
Tell me if it's better.

exuse me but im in big confusion..
if i put my output gamma in max preference to 1.0 to don't over wright gamma, and put vray in gamma 2.2 when i render all is ok in the maxVFB..but when i zoom in ou zoom out, max apply his display setting..and my image look washed
max display gamma 2.2+vray gamma= 2 correction..
note that it work good with vray FB
it's a bug?
im on max 9

yes this is a known limitation. the problem appears too when you duplicate after render your max vfb-->double gamma.
it don't happends while renering, but after. so if you zoom/pan max vfb while rendering, gamma is correct. i'm right ?
i've made this choice in a logical manner. i've preferred give the focus to the interactivity with material editor...
the goal is to save the \"just renderer\" max vfb without any additionnal manipulation.
But i'm open ! my goal is mainly to give satisfaction to Sr users...
just for info, another thing : spiral rendering in SR is specially made for vray vfb track mouse tool.
