no, backburner is the most used tool, i don't know another !
But vray comes with a litlle \"spawer\" wich permits to start a Max+Vray in slave mode on slave computer, for net render. With it you don't need backburner. But it remains very simple (no jobs, no priorities, etc..)

Think we'll probably continue backburner since we have usually 5-6 projects going on at one time.
My problem is that I can't get animation to work properly, Ill set up a new test today and see.

Another SolidRocks user in this forum (Davs, www.mediastation.co.uk), told me that he uses often SolidRocks to setup animations, and works well for him.

Don't think solidrocks is the source of the problem.
I can render animated geometry, but it ends up flickering.

Testing with SL now, probably should have done it before I jumped the gun, rendering a short anim now.
