Question on Gamma 2.2 was created by onsnapcad
Once again I'm very happy with your product congrats!!, I'm new to the Gamma correction setting, my question is should I use only SR gamma correction, or should I change the 3ds max 2008 setting too. I'm getting washed out colors whats the best setting I can use.. Thanks in advanced.

hello, and thanks for congrats
Gamma correction in Solirocks is made to handle all the gamma process. So if you use the \"gamma correction\" button in max, just let it do all the job for you.
note : If you're using max Frame buffer, after render please don't duplicate frame buffer or zoom in/out as it will transform in double gamma. Just save the pic immediatly after render.
If you're using Vray VFB, no problem at all, just leave the Srgb option OFF.

Even with Vray VFB I get double gamma when I duplicate it.

Yes i confirm...
i really can't avoid this problem.
But the deal is it : If you need to duplicate your VFB, then uncheck \"Gamma corrrection\" button, duplicate VFb, and check it again.

??
i just tried with max2009 and Last 0.52 (30/06/2008)
- I activate Sr gamma correction (1.5)
- do the render with max vfb
1°)- save manually from vfb : exactly the same (no double gamma)
2°)- save via render panel --> save render : same (no double gamma)
Perhaps 3 things to verify :
- be sure you've the last 0.52 SR version (30/06/2008)
- At save dialog window, verify that \"use system gamma\" is checked. Don't use the override(substitute) gamma option.
- with max9 gamma handling works not completely. max9 users have to activate max gamma manually. (this is not your case)
