hi guys,

you have here an informativ discussion and some ecperts.
maybe somebody could help me too:

what is wrong with my V-Ray Exterior ?!!

3DS Max 2010, V-Ray 1.5
test render without ambient occlusion

i just need a happy sunny mid day atmosphere, but the light wishes out the texdtures.
if i change the direction, it becommes more more gray.

is better to use use vray sun in my case?! if yes, how?!

Hi Etminan,
yep you can use Vraysun/sky to lit your scene (or use daylight system with vray sun option)
note : please keep default values for sun and sky !

if it's the case, you can use daylight whitebalance (camera options) or let SR compute the correct White balance for you (AutoWB button)

i think your problem comes from color mapping : you can use reinhard with something like 80% exponential to help avoiding overexposed areas.

Of course if you change sun pos you can ask SR to compute the correct exposure (AE button)

maybe you dont belive me, if i say i tested all of them and every tutorial.
i dont get the right ambiente...

if possible send me a sample scene just with a white wall... you will realy help me with that.

well in your case (exterior overburn) it's a matter of color mapping : try full exponential !

You can also switch to gamma 1.8 or 2.2 to keep clear shadow parts. (you'll need to compensate the cam exposure)

In real life photography it is very common that exteriors viewed from inside a room is overexposed with exposure set for indoor photography. Common procedure is to take two shots with two exposures and comp them together in Photoshop etc.
