Rendering Time Version 1.5 VS 1.6 was created by jbrasmartins
I there,
I'm having some problems with the new build.
Just installed it, and suddendly the file is just taking forever to render.
The file was previously rendered in the 1.5.1 version - took about 5hours - but now I tried to install the last build and after 3hours rendering it is pointing me 545hours.
This is a large scene, and because of this all of the objects are in Xref, in the main file there are only lights and cameras.
I'm rendering a 3000x2000px image in BF+LC in "Special BF Preset" and "Very Good" quality.

Hello !
are you using vray 3 ?
note that SR 1.65 presets are quite different than 1.5x.
Now you get better results in good mode than with 1.5 in very good or even prod.
so now the ultra is a "real" ultra mode. and production is stronger.
I'm actually working on 1.7 build, especially at this moment to a new important feature : the material subdivs are modified according to the glossiness value. This will help SR to be more precise on how subdivs are managed depending on glossiness.
I you can send me your problematic scene, this will help me to balance the 1.7 rendertimes/quality.

Hi, Subburb;
Yes, for sure I can send it to you.
I've already noticed this in other scenes... Same issue actually exists in lower settings render such as LC/LC render for example.~
What I find strange is that the difference of time is really high.
Only one thing I'm using blend materials with some extremelly high subdivs values, closer to Grant Warrick's definitions.
I's an exterior scene, so maybe it will take a long to upload. With diffent plugins such as laubwerk plants - forest tree, and railclone. How can I export it?

i don't need textures.
only geometry and llighting.
i have railclone and forest. not laubwerk.
don't spend time on it, just pack it with no textures, i'll see
