I'm still working to find the issue...
looks like, at this stage, that it's not SR related, and i've seen many max2014 having this png issue with no solidrocks never installed on them...
is your max2014 with sp5 ?
annyonning issue....

Came here to say that I'm having the same problem since upgrading to the new version. I get a png IO error when rendering via solidrocks, but not when rendering directly with vray or any other render engine.
